There is a note on the title page: "Unless otherwise stated, my informants in obtaining the traditions of these Indians were Benjamin Hobucket, and his brother, Police Luke Hobucket, and my assistant in the government school, Gordon B. Hobucket (also a Quileute Indian), the latter being by interpreter."
